Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2026

This page explains what information we collect when you visit our website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what control you have over it. We have tried to keep it plain and short, because a privacy policy you cannot understand is not much use to anyone.

The short version

We do not have user accounts and we do not collect personal data beyond standard website analytics. We use analytics to see how people find and use the site, and we only run those analytics cookies if you agree through our cookie banner. If you book a call with us, we use your details to arrange and have that meeting. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Who we are

This website is run by 5W Ltd ("5W", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales.

For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), 5W Ltd is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. That means we are responsible for how it is handled.

What we collect, why, and our lawful basis

Website analytics

We use analytics to understand how people use our site, for example which pages are popular and how visitors arrive. This typically includes information such as the pages you view, the approximate location you are visiting from (at city level, worked out from your IP address), the type of device and browser you use, and the website or link that brought you here.

Google Analytics sets cookies to do this. We only run analytics cookies if you give your consent through the cookie banner shown when you first visit. You can change your mind at any time.

Booking a call with us

If you book a call, you do so through a Google Calendar booking link. To arrange and hold the meeting, we process the details you provide, which will usually be your name, your email address, and anything you choose to tell us about why you want to talk. Google handles the scheduling on our behalf.

Emails and messages you send us

If you email us at hi@5w.world, we will have your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message. We use this to reply and to keep a record of our correspondence.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. We use two kinds:

Essential cookies: needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choices. These do not require your consent.

Analytics cookies: used for the analytics described above. These are optional and are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner.

You can accept or reject analytics cookies through the banner, and you can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and our scheduling: Google (Google Analytics for website analytics, and Google Calendar / Google Workspace for booking and email).

These providers act on our behalf and are only permitted to use the data to provide their service to us.

Sending data outside the UK

Some of our providers, including Google, may process data on servers outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement. If you would like more detail on a specific provider, contact us at hi@5w.world.

How long we keep your data

Analytics data: retained in Google Analytics for up to 14 months in line with our configured retention setting, then automatically deleted. Reports based on aggregated, non-identifying data may be kept for longer.

Booking details and correspondence: kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to keep reasonable business records, normally no more than 24 months after our last contact, unless we have a legal reason to keep them longer.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hi@5w.world. We will respond within one month.

How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
